M. Joy Sidwell, M.A., is chair of Bowling Green State University's internationally renowned sport management program. Her primary research and teaching foci have been sport history and professional preparation in sport management. Her research has been published in the Journal of Sport Management; Sex Roles; and the Journal of Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance, among others. She has also authored or coauthored textbook chapters addressing sport history and professional preparation. She was BGSU's first field experience coordinator and built the field experience component into one of the country's most recognized and respected sport management experiential education programs.
