David Pargman is in his 25th year at Florida State University, where he is professor of Educational Psychology and coordinator of Sport Psychology Studies in the Department of Educational Research. Previously, he taught in the Departments of Health and Physical Education at Boston University and the City College of New York. Dr. Pargman received his M.A. from Teacher's College, Columbia University, and his Ph.D. from New York University. He is author and coauthor of two other books that deal, respectively, with stress and performance, and fitness and wellness. He is currently completing a textbook entitled Sport Psychology. He has been major professor to 25 Ph.D. graduates and is a member of the American Psychological Association, the International Association of Applied Psychology, and the North American Society for the Psychology of Sport and Physical Activity. He is a Fellow of the Association for the Advancement of Applied Sport Psychology and the American College of Sports Medicine. He is also a Certified Sport Psychology Consultant of the Association for the Advancement of Applied Sport Psychology. Dr. Pargman has competed in hundreds of road races, was a member of his college track and cross-country team, and continues to train, run, and compete as a distance runner. Consequently, he is often injured and in the throes of mental and physical rehabilitative experiences. | |
